Let’s have a look at application of such effects like Matrix, Replace Colors and Bring to Colors for the purpose of replacing image colors.
Let’s choose the following image as an example:
We'll set the following tasks:
create a suntan;
change clothes color;
change hair color.
We will use Matrix effect to create a suntan.
First, let’s select an editing area, for this purpose click Lasso in a Toolbar and outline all bare parts of the skin of the first and the second girls. Add a new selection to the old one, holding pressed the Shift key, and subtract a new selection from the old one holding the Alt key.
When the Effect area is chosen, it is possible to start replacing the skin color in order to simulate suntan. To change the color of skin we will transform red, green and dark blue color channels as follows:
Now let’s move to the substitution of clothes color using Replace Colors effect.
Let’s change, for example, the black color of the girls swimming suit on orange. For this purpose we'll outline the swimming suit with the help of Lasso and then set the following options of Replace colors effect:
In the same way we will replace the black color of the swimming suit of the other girl with dark blue.
Now let’s replace the hair color. To change the hair color we will use Bring to colors effect together with Image correction.
As well as in previous operations we will start with selecting
the editing area, this time selecting hair of the third girl with the help of
Lasso.
Then we'll set the following effect options:
Now we will adjust Brightness and Contrast of the color using Image correction effect, so that the color of hair looks “natural”.
As a result of the described operations we have the following image:
